Today we celebrate Canadian culture, diversity and achievement in all its forms. But while we have much to celebrate, it’s also important to acknowledge and reflect on the negative aspects of our history, so we can continue to learn and grow as a country. For Indigenous communities, in particular, Canada Day can be a reminder of the ongoing multi-generational impact of colonization. So, as we come together today, we encourage you to take time to explore how we can do better, and how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.
What an amazing turnout at #SurreyPride festival today! 🌈 Did you see us and stop by the booth? If not, we hope to see you at more #pride events around Metro Vancouver this summer including @vancouverpride and @newwestpride
