“My job title is deceiving. I’m a lab tech, but my priority isn’t the lab. It’s the students using it. We have the equipment – computers, data, maps – they need to complete their lab assignments, and I’m there to assist and guide them. I make sure everyone’s happy, the equipment’s working, and the space is safe and all-inclusive.”
“Every semester, we would gather for training sessions, and I would have to speak in front of 50 to 60 mentors. At first it was nerve-wracking, but I slowly got used to it, and now it’s much easier for me to speak in front of others.”
2022 is nearly at an end, and holiday season joy is spreading throughout the Douglas College community. The College will be closed to the public Dec. 24–Jan. 3. We wish everyone a happy, safe holiday season!
"When athletes move on from Douglas, I hope they leave with the tools they require to be successful five, 10, even 20 years down the road. Work ethic, time management, communication skills. Honestly, I want them to have the chance to inspire young athletes to chase their own dreams.”
Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women. We fly our flags at half-mast in memory of the 14 women murdered in the École Polytechnique massacre of 1989, and in solidarity with the survivors who were injured and traumatized in the attack.
