Don’t miss out – here’s what’s happening around campus this week!

Monday, March 25

  • Free DCBA Tax Clinic – 10am–5pm in the DSU Building, 1st floor, New Westminster Campus. The clinic is free for all Douglas College students and the public (with income restrictions). On until April 10.
  • Art exhibition: Chapan Snares Rabbits – 10am–5pm at the Amelia Douglas Gallery, New Westminster Campus. View the latest works of Burnaby artist Michelle Sound, inspired by her indigenous heritage. Chapan is a Cree word for great-grandparents as well as your descendants. Free and open to the public. On show until April 20.
  • Free Flow Jam – Prop Switch 6–9 pm in the Movement Studio, New Westminster Campus. Presented by the DSU Hoop Club. Practice your routine, meet new people and have fun! Bring props and exchange them with your peers.

Tuesday, March 26

  • DSU Year End Party – 12–5pm in the Breezeway Area at AB Building, Coquitlam Campus. Enjoy an afternoon of free food, $3 beverages, arcade games, music and prizes! Vegan and gluten free options available. Beverage Garden is for ages 19+. Government and Douglas College ID required!
  • DSU Womens’ Coffee House: Women in Revolutions – 2:30-4pm in room 110 at the DSU Building, New Westminster Campus. How has the work of women who led historical social movements changed our lives? What role did they play in history? Discuss this and more over a cup of coffee.

Wednesday, March 27

  • Music Technology Portfolio Show – 2–7pm in the Concourse, New Westminster Campus. Sample the diverse talents of Douglas College Music Tech students. Registration is not required. Simply show up!
  • World of Dance – Bhangra – 4:30–5:30pm in the Movement Studio, New Westminster Campus. Stay healthy and happy by swinging to the beat of high-energy Punjabi music. No registration required.

Thursday, March 28

  • Student Showcase Concert – 1pm in the Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre at the New Westminster Campus. Presented by Arts at One, the afternoon features music by Douglas College students.
  • Book Launch: Pearls 38 – 7–9pm in the Douglas College Studio Theatre at the New Westminster Campus. Presented by the Department of Creative Writing, Pearls 38 is an anthology of the best student works chosen by their instructors.

Friday, March 22

  • Awards Benefit Concert – 7:30pm in the Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre at the New Westminster Campus. Featuring Douglas College Choirs and Concert Band. The event benefits the Douglas College Award Fund for Music Students. Presented by the Department of Music.
