Celebrate Latin American Cinema at Douglas

By Sucheta Singh

The Vancouver Latin American Film Festival is back Aug. 24 to Sept. 3 and this year it celebrates 15 years. Since 2003, this 11-day festival celebrates Latin American cinema and encourages dialogue between different cultures.

To celebrate, Douglas College is screening Maquinaria Panamericana (Pan American Machinery Inc.), a Mexican movie about a factory where a common Friday turns into anything but ordinary.

Employees at the factory discover the dead body of their boss. Chaos, confusion, fear and sorrow go through their minds unleashing their darkest secrets during what might become their last weekend working there.

Come join us Thursday, Sept. 7 at 10:30am in Lecture Theatre N2201, New Westminster Campus. The event is free and open to everyone.
