Before coming to Douglas College, Surya Viswanathan had plans to make it to the big leagues as a baseball player. But after accepting an invite to a meeting hosted by the College’s Student Ambassador’s program, that all changed. Through the mentoring of those heading up the program, Surya discovered a career he had never considered that combined his passion for travelling and for helping others – a diplomat.

After enrolling in the Intercultural and International Relations program at Douglas College, Surya is ready to trade the outfield for the world stage.
