B.C. author John Vaillant to give reading at Douglas College Feb. 23

Award-winning B.C. author John Vaillant will visit Douglas College for a free, public reading on Feb. 23.

Vaillant’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, National Geographic, and The Walrus, among other publications.

His first book, The Golden Spruce (Knopf, 2005), was a bestseller and won several awards, including the Governor General’s Award for Non-Fiction.

His second nonfiction book, The Tiger (Knopf, 2010), is also an award-winning bestseller.

In 2014, Vaillant won Yale University’s Windham Campbell Prize for non-fiction (worldwide English).

His latest book, a novel, is The Jaguar’s Children (Knopf).
